Support lifecycle policy
This policy provides important information regarding the life cycle of Cloudera product releases, including the projected dates when each release is expected to be declared End of Support.
The dates provided in this policy are intended for general planning purposes and are not intended to supersede any of Cloudera’s contractual commitments.
Note: Key definitions associated with the Cloudera Support Lifecycle Policy are provided in Appendix 1.
Note: For eligible customers, Limited Support for CDH versions 6.2 and 6.3 and HDP version 3.1 will be provided during the six-month period (i)starting on January 1, 2022, and ending on June 30, 2022, for HDP products and (ii) beginning on April 1, 2022, and ending on September 30, 2022, for CDH products See the terms associated with this Limited Support offering.
Cloudera Support Lifecycle Policy
The Cloudera Support Lifecycle Policy outlines the Support Services guidelines for Cloudera Products.
Each Major and Minor Release will be supported until the applicable End of Support Date for such release
- Selected versions of the Cloudera Data Product - Private Cloud Base product will be designated as Long Term Support. For more information please see the Long Term Support Policy and Long Term Support FAQ.
- Select version of the Cloudera Data Product - Public Cloud product will be designated as Long Term Support. For more information please see the Long Term Support Policy - Public Cloud.
- Select versions of Cloudera Data Services - Public Cloud products will be supported for six months. For more information please see the Cloudera Data Services - Public Cloud Support FAQ
Current End of Support (EoS) Dates
The following tables specify the planned End of Support Schedule for Cloudera products. All future dates are provided for planning purposes only and are subject to change, but with the expectation that dates may move later but will not move earlier. In each case, the projected EoS Date can be considered to be the last day of the month specified in the table below.

- Cloudera Manager End of Service dates align with the corresponding CDP or Cloudera Enterprise release that included a particular Cloudera Manager version.
- CDH and CDP Private Cloud Base clusters managed by Cloudera Manager may reach End of Service prior to the End of Service the Cloudera Manager version itself. Using a newer Cloudera Manager version does not extend the lifetime of a CDH or CDP version.
- 7.1.6 has been extended till March 2024

Cloudera cannot address underlying Kubernetes issues that the CSP has deemed EOS.
Beside Documentation & Knowledge Base articles the only mechanism to assist customers will be upgrades to the latest release. This will vary based on the data service.
Upgrades during End of Support Exceptions will be restricted to customer-driven side-car migrations only

Definitions
Cloudera ML Runtime Variant
The combination of ML Runtime Editor, Kernel, and Edition specifies an ML Runtime Variant. For example, (JupyterLab, Python 3.10, Standard).
Cloudera ML Runtime Version
The minor version of a Cloudera ML Runtime Variant. For example, 2023.08.
Cloudera ML Runtime Maintenance Version
As needed for critical bug fixes and security issues. For example, 2023.08.2.
Support Policy
Cloudera documents End of Maintenance (EoM) dates for ML Runtime Variants. The EoM dates are aligned with the variant’s kernel’s upstream security support. End of Support (EoS) dates are set to 6 months after the EoM dates. The dates provided apply to all ML Runtime Versions for the ML Runtime Variant.
