Now in its second year, the event is on track to be the largest and most widely attended Hadoop World event to date, featuring sixty educational breakout sessions covering both business and technical applications across five role-based educational tracks that explore this year’s theme: Hadoop for the Data Driven Enterprise. The event program will examine the power of Apache Hadoop, the overall Hadoop stack and related solutions to enable organizations to derive real business value and actionable insights from their massive sets of unstructured and structured data.
“It’s exciting to see how quickly Apache Hadoop has advanced to become a fully-realized open source technology, which is a testimony to the significant contributions of the developers around the world who continue to make it the best it can be,” said Doug Cutting, creator of Apache Hadoop and architect at Cloudera. “Hadoop has proven to be a highly effective solution for turning big and complex data sets into valuable business intelligence to give enterprises an edge in today’s highly competitive business landscape. The assembled experts in attendance at Hadoop World will provide valuable insights into how businesses can make the most of Hadoop clusters, irrespective of how far along they are in the deployment process.”
Attendees of Hadoop World 2011 will benefit from Apache Hadoop-focused learning, networking and training experience. The two-day event will offer real-world use cases across a variety of industries, with technical deep dives on the latest advancements in the Hadoop stack. Patterned after the adoption cycle of an actual Hadoop project, the conference tracks will address the following:
- Getting started: Examine why enterprise adoption of Apache Hadoop is accelerating in a variety of industries. Attendees will learn how they can leverage Hadoop to improve their company’s IT infrastructure and profit from the hidden value and opportunities in their unstructured and structured data sets.
- Architect: How to architect and model Hadoop clusters in modern enterprise IT environments.
- Build: Technical deep dive into Hadoop and application development for Hadoop. Committers, contributors and expert users from various Hadoop projects will discuss the finer points of building applications with Hadoop and the related ecosystem.
- Deploy: Best practices for how to effectively run Apache Hadoop, with a special emphasis on people, processes and technology.
- Extract value: Solve data science and integration tasks using Hadoop.
